Poplar is the first sign in the tree calendar and has a very important place in Celtic mythology. In the celtic calendar is the only occurs four times every major Celtic festivals - Samhain, Imbolc, Beltane and Lugnasad.Poplars are high and noble trees, and can be very useful to man. Their wood served Celts to manufacture clogs, They made it shields that tugged the skin, and other items of daily use. The bark of young trees and their buds are edible and in times of need certainly saved many a family from starvation. Healing effects of poplar today are very well known, but since the time of the Celts, people from the leaves of poplar made tiles for sore and his buds, linseed oil and beeswax They made an excellent salve for burns. Topol also has the tradition of helping people who suffer short stature - this tree certainly has no problems with the rapid rise!

People under this sign are teachable, honest, lonely. The basic properties of poplar fast growth. A man who is born under the rule of poplar, learns quickly and easily understood. Like the poplar are people born during his reign straightforward and straight. Often they have artistic talent and sense of beauty.Usually they are people closely connected with nature and in the landscape feels much better than in the city. Without exaggeration, one can also say that nature understand much better than most other people. Like the poplar is also a man born in the sign of deeply rooted in their environment and does not like the changes.People Topol are popular among others, because they retain certain environmental perspective, never too not covet property and diplomats are also skilled in interpersonal relations. In critical situations in them sometimes unexpectedly pops up foolhardiness and are able to defend their opinion with a losing inexorable certainty. These positive characteristics are sometimes balanced with a certain sense of loneliness and abandonment, as due to fairly high moral demands of the area do not have too many true friends. That it can sometimes lead to irritability and rancor. Even in love, people are not always fully satisfied Topol and rarely fulfill their dream of a widely branched and tightly knit family. Their dissatisfaction or mountain can not usually very good at hiding and their closest friends may not on their inner torment know.

Irish flute - from the perspective of the beginner

Greetings,

Yesterday I finally ring awaited sms from the Czech Post that today I get the package. :-) I have long wondered if purchased Irish flute and on Monday I decided - Yes.

The problem is where to find the Czech Republic Irish flute. On eBay, I found it quite a bit, but I have no experience with that. Eventually I found a Czech trade www.whistleshop.cz , where I discovered the Irish flute.

And today it is come! :-) Classic Irish flute is made of wood. Today are manufactured from a metal or polymer. Mine is just made of polymer - for my playing is enough I do not need an expensive flute. I am a beginner.

https://www.tonydixonmusic.co.uk/

This flute is made by Tony Dixon. It is one piece, measuring about 60 cm. Holding as well as flute.

I was surprised how far are holes (there are 6 holes). The second problem is the holding flutes - diagonally left or right? I came to the conclusion - diagonally right (just do not ask me for God's sake, how I came to that conclusion, I have the flute at home just a few hours :-D) Come watch a few youtube tutorials and it will be clear. :-). And finally, the problem number three. How this tool I longed to coax sound - deliberately I say "sound" and not "tone", in that it is a huge of difference. :-D. I managed to get up after a grueling 45 minutes. and it more or less by accident. :-)

After my first hour of exercise, I was very breathless, but happy!

P. S. This article is written from the perspective of a beginner and I do not aim at anyone advise or instruct anyone.

Thank you for reading and sorry for my English

Matt Molloy's Irish flute playing style, which is used for playing the bagpipes.

In the interview from 1997, Matt Molloy says: "My grandfather played as well. And it goes right back into the family on my father’s side. They all played. My grandfather played around the turn of the century. They were all from the Sligo area, South Sligo, which is quite close to where I’m from myself. We’re just across the border in County Roscommon, that’s where I was born."

During the seventies, Matt Molloy was a member of The Bothy Band and its successor, the refounding group Planxty. In 1979 he became a member of The Chieftains, replacing Michael Tubridy. During his career, Molloy worked with the Irish Chamber Orchestra.

Druids

Spiritual Celtic religion were the druids. So the question is: Who were the Druids / druidesses? The Druids we know very little. They are, among others, often portrayed with a golden sickle in one hand and mistletoe in the other. Among the most famous druids Celtic mythology is one of the Arthurian times druid and sorcerer Merlin under his creatures responsible Welshman Geoffrey of Monmouth. "Archetype" Merlin however nevycucal just a finger. Old, perhaps even historic, tradition tells of Lailoken who allegedly r. 575 n. L. In the battle of Cumbria and mad as "enlightened madman" wandered Scottish forests. Welsh named him Myrrdin ... and witches Morigan They're not just literary heroes). Druids were the Celtic tribes in the leadership position. Many social and political issues druid tribe would require the ability to prophesy .... Marking druid can be read in three ways. First, the old writers ... they derive from the phrase Drus (oak). The original meaning of the word is thus estimated to be as "oak expert" or the "Sage of oak forest", the second etymological meaning is that ... the word tribe dru means strong, powerful, dense and Indo-European root wid or vid is located in the Latin word "videre" ( see, know), a Sanskrit word vidya (know wisdom) and the English word widsom (wisdom). Loosely translated, we get the meaning of "particularly far-sighted" or "especially knowing much." The third lining of this name is as follows. Irish word for magic is draoicht, which literally means "what did the Druids' Druids took care of the spiritual and religious life of Celtic society.
According to the American scientist Paul Lonigana can define groups Druid features:
· Astrologers and prophets - predicted the happy and unhappy days·
Exorciser, dowsers - Necromancers· Guardians Sencha (ancient tradition) - the right pedigree· National and supranational institutions· Interpreters of the law and advisor· Peace negotiator· Philosophers· Doctors· Protectors against evil· Sacrificial priests· Beings with the ability to transform· Heralds of God's word· Part of the country and those who sanctify land· Teachers· Worshipers trees· Warriors
Caesar in his book Commentarii de Bello Gallico states that if someone wanted to be a druid had to study up to twenty years. Literal citation reads: "Reports say that schools druids are memorized many verses, and why are some persons remain twenty years." The Druid rites, many do not know. Just what we had left from contemporary records of Celtic myths and archelogie, but it is already mentioned above. Druids used nature. They watched the sun, moon and stars, lived in the forests ... you could say that they were connected with nature. ... Without their consent could not the king act or make decisions, so that they in skutečnostibyli rulers, while the kings exercised their will, just like servants. The Celts worshiped nature. - Sun, trees, plants and natural Alive (water, fire). There are literally thousands of stone forts, circular mounds, sacred wells, stone circles and other monuments.

17st March - St. Patrick's Day ☘

Today is 17st March, so I thought to write something about the Irish festival, which is
incidentally associated spring - St. Patrick's Day. InNowadays in Europe this holiday taken as a celebration of Irish Culture, but it's mainly the Irish national holiday.St. Patrick's Day is a national holiday in Ireland, which is celebrated on March 17. Children in Ireland have this day holiday.

Why do we celebrate St. Patrick's Day
St. Patrick (in Irish Naomh Pádraig) is the
saint patron of Ireland. He lived in the 5th century AD. L. He came from Roman Britain. In his youth he was captured by Irish pirates and taken as a slave to Ireland. After several years, he escaped back to Britain. After a few years he decided to enter the convent, where he became a priest like his father and grandfather before him. He later returned to Ireland as a missionary, where he decided to spread the Christian faith. According to legend, St. expelled. Patrik all snakes from the island, and therefore no snakes in Ireland occur. For the Irish, the arrival of St. Patrick equally as important for us zvěrozvěstů arrival of Cyril and Methodius to Great Moravia.About festivalAs a feast to celebrate this day began in the 17th century. Feast date - ie on March 17 - was determined by the day of the alleged death of the patron. Its symbol is a green color and shamrock clover with which to allegedly explained the principle of divine trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This symbol and colourare also symbols of this holiday.

How is celebrated today

On this day should have a man wearing something green (usually T-shirt). The celebration is to add green food coloring to food and drink (no I do not know if I would then ate or drank :-D). Many restaurants and pubs offering Irish menu, which includes:Irish brown bread,Corned beef and cabbage,Beef and Guinness pie,Irish cream chocolate mousse,Irish Coffee,Irish crispy potato, also known as Cally and Pandy,Irish stew,Irish potato soup. Some people in this day attending a place of pilgrimage on the island of Lough Derg in County Donegal. This site has been visited by people from the 13th century. St. Patrick said that everyone who came to the sanctuary on the island in repentance and faith, receive the forgiveness of their sins.In Ireland,

I have never been (I hope it will not stay there). All the information I found on English-language websites.

Happy St. Patrick's Day ☘☘☘

Celts - who they were and where they came

I have for you a little bit bigger article - about the Celts. About this nation has been interested in some time, so I decided to expand a little. :-)

I am sorry for my English. :-)

When I talk about Celtic religion, I must first imagine a nation of Celts and their culture, because they belong inseparably together. Let us ask the most basic question - Who were / are the Celts? I mention the word for a simple reason and that is because those particular island countries (Ireland and the UK), and only those are considered descendants of the Celts. Today we know about the Celts very little, because after another left almost no written records. All you had passed between them orally. To the knowledge of the Celts helped us mainly archaeology and written records of other nations - especially the Romans and Greeks, as well as myths and legends (mostly from Wales and Ireland).Celts belong to the group of Indo-European peoples (Greeks, Romans, Celts, Germans and Slavs, ...). Celts originally dwelt in France, England and Spain, the estate was their original territory in southern Germany, Bohemia and Moravia. Around the year 600 BC. ... Occupy the landscape around the river Rhone, in the 5th century. we meet them in Spain, and even occupy the islands of Ireland and Britain. They developed a community that was very skilled - particularly in working with iron. The Celts considered descendants of the gods, and I think it is very well seen in Celtic mythology. Other sources are archaeological findings and legends. Alone Celts had not recorded anything because everything passed down orally. The Druids would not consent to the letters. They wanted to read the initial script of nature and the universe, and no others are not. Records of their contemporaries say that ... The Celts were like children - immediate. They are cheerful, capricious and choleric. Performs surprise wander the world and especially nature. They dressed colourfully, revelled colours, love ornaments and like to pomalovávali and if they desire; simply discarded clothes and naked attacked! When you are arguing and fighting, then they do not proceed strategically, but just screaming and yelling starts.

Originally the Greeks and Romans were calling Keltoi word Celts living in Gaul (modern France - north of Marseille). Gradually but they called all the nations that were linguistically related. The Celts never created a functioning state, but they were fragmented across Europe into tribes - as an example, I can mention the strain of fighting, Volk and Tektoságů. In my opinion, they were, packet bit, "Everywhere" were scattered almost all over Europe - the first known Celts lived north of the Alps and the Danube Valley, a region that from the sources of the rivers in Germany reached on the territory of present-day Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. In addition to these countries, the Celts began to settle also France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Great Britain, Ireland and even Turkey.

The origin of the word Celt originated from the Greek word Keltoi which is hidden - that is, by Greeks, hidden from civilized society. People, which today is known as the Celts, up to modern times, this completely avoid naming names and not even for their languages - Irish, Scottish Gaelic Manx, Welsh, Cornish and Breton.Literature, which was an aid to this article:Raban, Milan.
