Celts - who they were and where they came

I have for you a little bit bigger article - about the Celts. About this nation has been interested in some time, so I decided to expand a little. :-)

I am sorry for my English. :-)

When I talk about Celtic religion, I must first imagine a nation of Celts and their culture, because they belong inseparably together. Let us ask the most basic question - Who were / are the Celts? I mention the word for a simple reason and that is because those particular island countries (Ireland and the UK), and only those are considered descendants of the Celts. Today we know about the Celts very little, because after another left almost no written records. All you had passed between them orally. To the knowledge of the Celts helped us mainly archaeology and written records of other nations - especially the Romans and Greeks, as well as myths and legends (mostly from Wales and Ireland).Celts belong to the group of Indo-European peoples (Greeks, Romans, Celts, Germans and Slavs, ...). Celts originally dwelt in France, England and Spain, the estate was their original territory in southern Germany, Bohemia and Moravia. Around the year 600 BC. ... Occupy the landscape around the river Rhone, in the 5th century. we meet them in Spain, and even occupy the islands of Ireland and Britain. They developed a community that was very skilled - particularly in working with iron. The Celts considered descendants of the gods, and I think it is very well seen in Celtic mythology. Other sources are archaeological findings and legends. Alone Celts had not recorded anything because everything passed down orally. The Druids would not consent to the letters. They wanted to read the initial script of nature and the universe, and no others are not. Records of their contemporaries say that ... The Celts were like children - immediate. They are cheerful, capricious and choleric. Performs surprise wander the world and especially nature. They dressed colourfully, revelled colours, love ornaments and like to pomalovávali and if they desire; simply discarded clothes and naked attacked! When you are arguing and fighting, then they do not proceed strategically, but just screaming and yelling starts.

Originally the Greeks and Romans were calling Keltoi word Celts living in Gaul (modern France - north of Marseille). Gradually but they called all the nations that were linguistically related. The Celts never created a functioning state, but they were fragmented across Europe into tribes - as an example, I can mention the strain of fighting, Volk and Tektoságů. In my opinion, they were, packet bit, "Everywhere" were scattered almost all over Europe - the first known Celts lived north of the Alps and the Danube Valley, a region that from the sources of the rivers in Germany reached on the territory of present-day Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. In addition to these countries, the Celts began to settle also France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Great Britain, Ireland and even Turkey.

The origin of the word Celt originated from the Greek word Keltoi which is hidden - that is, by Greeks, hidden from civilized society. People, which today is known as the Celts, up to modern times, this completely avoid naming names and not even for their languages - Irish, Scottish Gaelic Manx, Welsh, Cornish and Breton.Literature, which was an aid to this article:Raban, Milan.
