Service at the information desk - another story from the library :-)

Today I was in the library service for the information counter, like every week. :-) So, one story from this place. :-)I arrived for the round counter information, beautifully I sat down, turned on the computer and the necessary programs and wait for the first reader who will come to me.My work on this niche lies in the fact that the reader groping visit me and I'll help you to choose a book, or he'll find a book you can not find.He approached me old woman (just 70 years) for French crutch. I invited her to be with me perched on a chair (she was glad that she can relax), and we started to advise what would you like to borrow. She wanted something from humour. In the database, I sought out books from humour books and old woman said she wants to choose.I found the book in electronic database , I copied the necessary information from the database, smiled for old woman and said:"I'll find it for you. Keep me a moment here." and I crawl out from the counter table.


I did not know, however, what this cause. Old woman horribly started to rise and almost started to run (as with those crutches was not good enough :-)) and still I apologised that it finds itself, that would not bother. :-)At that moment it occurred to me. People who are sitting / standing in front of the counter and talk to me, to see what fits. Rather - to think that I was sitting on a chair. Oversight . I sit on the elekric wheelchair, but under the counter simply can not see. :-)



Well, it took me some time before I assured she, that it is my job and that I'm not a problem. She convinced her to sit back down, handed her crutches and I took off to find her the book I had brought the book and we have talked a moment. :-)Since then, this lady my regular visitor! :-)
